Analysis on Rotary Speed of Cone Crusher


Cone crusher is used for coarse, intermediate, and fine crushing of various hard and medium hard rocks in the industrial sectors of mining, metallurgy, building, chemical engineering, and silicate, etc. Cone crusher works regularly based on the normal performance of its mobile cone on which is the following analysis from Shunky. 

Cone crusher contains a cone of a common diameter of 900 mm to 2200 mm, and an eccentric sleeve at a designed rotary speed of 220 rpm to 400 rpm. Generally, the larger the cone diameter is, the slower the eccentric sleeve rotates and it rotates faster otherwise. Experiments and statistics show that the main shaft of every cone crusher rotates i.e. the rotary speed, 5 to 18 times per minute. If the rotary speed exceeds 18 times per minute, the cone crusher will get damaged easily.

When working in the production, the mobile cone of the cone crusher rotates periodically at a certain speed. The speed jumps higher suddenly if iron block or other ultra hard material enters the cone crusher and if the lubrication is poor between the main shaft and its sleeve. As a result, the cone crusher will vibrates fiercely with consequences such as abnormal performance of the the spring unit or the hydraulic cylinder, the instantaneous increase of the working electricity current, the sharp increase of the return oil temperature, and other damages to the cone crusher.

It is supposed to thoroughly inspect the material and the machine, lubricate well, and ensure reasonable rotating speed when operating the cone crusher so that it works well.
