When choosing the plate of cone crusher, we have to take these 3 factors into consideration: handling capacity, the rate of power and the resistance of the plate. Usually we will choose the model of cone crusher according to the factors: the max feeding size; the thickness of the material, the hardness of material and the resistance of material.

The longer is the plate, the consumption is higher. If the material is hard, we should choose short plate, while if the material is soft, we can choose the long plate. If we take the thickness of material into consideration, when crushing fine material, we can use short plate, but if coarse material, we can choose long plate. The moisture of material will also affect the throughput, so the moisture of material had better not exceed 5%. As for the rate of power, the power of standard cone crusher should be 75%-80%, while the short head type should be 80%-85%.
